Chefs in Motion

THIS 200-seat restaurant in the Lonehill Shopping Centre has won a People's Choice award on the Eat Out magazine's website.

Part of its appeal is entertainment: the chefs are in the centre of the restaurant, where diners can see what they're up to. Co-owner/chef Ryan Pearsall imported the notion from Canada; he calls it "total transparency".

Diners can go for a R60 buffet or an a la carte menu with starters like salmon sashimi rolls or vodka and gorgonzola snails, and main dishes including various sizes of rump and fillet steak, linefish, pasta and seafood. There is a "waiting bar" and a deck that looks out over Lonehill.

Hours: Open seven days a week for lunch and dinner.
